I'm back from the over nighter, and it was a fun trip. There's wasn't a drop of rain, Saturday had splendid sunshine and blue skies and today it was grey and humid, but alas no rain. I might post a trip report next week with some more photos, though after inspirations by Robin and Geoff I thought to show you the inside of my Scarp 1:
On the top left is my small pack sack, where I keep my towel and spare socks. Next to it, in the NeoAir pack sack, my 1st Aid kit and Hygiene bag, to the right a empty bottle of Minttu liqueur and next to it my kitchen in its bag. In the green pack sack I keep my food, on the top my phone and a Light-My-Fire cup. Then my torch, toilet paper and a 1l Platypus if I get thirsty during the night. My Smartwool Hiking Mid socks, which I wore over night in front of the open porch. NeoAir and GoLite Ultra 20° in the middle, very nice combo. And under my feet was my Ohm, which was very comfy and isolated well. My Rab Momentum Jacket and Drillium Pants where at the foot end, out of the picture, as were my shoes. Everything fits nicely inside, and there was room to spare!

I've started a trend! Looking forward to hearing more about the Scarp. Waiting for the new version to come out, so I can join the club!

ReplyDeleteRoger, it is usually this tidy, though honestly talking I think Robin's and Geoff's tent are equally tidy.
James, I guess if its snowing or raining it could look different. But I usually try to keep my things in its place, so that when I need them I can access them immediately.

the ultra is an absolute fine bit of kit. Been using mine for nearly 2 years and I really rate it. It isnt to everyone's taste but its the best all-round sleeping bag/quilt I have (and I do own a few!)
Dave, I'm a tidy person, what can I say =) Need to write the Ultra 20° review this weekend...
ReplyDeleteArranging your kit in your tent space is a useful habit to get into. I admit that I'm a tidy person but it does help to know where (and have to hand) stuff I might need at night.
ReplyDeleteIt all goes to pot when I'm sharing the space though and the tent space resembles a teenage boys bedroom :)
I guess if I would be camping with someone else in my tent, all tidiness would be gone :D But usually I manage to keep it reasonably well organized.
