Advent Calendar - Door Three

Dear Santa,

this going lightweight stuff isn't easy, let me tell you. How the hell am I supposed to carry a tube of mustard for my sausages without that my UL friends make fun of me? Sawing of your toothbrush is one thing, but should I really buy those tiny tubes of toothpaste? Happily I found out that Trekking-Lite-Store.com as a range of small, conveniently sized mini bottles for liquides - those would be ideal to transport my mustard and other liquids in style and be the king among my UL buddies, showcasing true dedication (this re-filling is a messy business, I only can do it if my wife isn't at home). It'd be swell if you could get me one of these, Santa - I would even fill one with a good whisky and leave it on the mantelpiece next year.

Best,

- An aspiring UL-Backpacker

Leave a comment with the six liquids you plan to carry in them. While some might carry six different whiskys in them, alcoholic beverages are not allowed =)

I could think of six nice liquor to filled them with.....but it would be sunscreen, bugsjuice, soap, sanitizer, olive oil and honey.  Those would be great as I always bring too much.

  4. I've been looking to buy something like this, but by the time you add postage to Turkey...
    1. Liquid soap (have a too big bottle of S2S soap). 2. Hand sanitizer. 3. Sun cream (gets liquid enough in the heat to use from a bottle here) 4. Olive oil to add flavour to freeze-dried stuff 5. Insect repellant (could have done with it on a 4-day trip last month, but decided the full bottle was too heavy). 6. My wife says she wants one of them for baby lotion. 7... D***, I'm still going to need to buy some, even if I win!

Hand sanitizer for afterwards.  (P.S. I withdraw myself from the contest. Save the postage and send it to someone a litte closer to Finland.  Great contest!  I'm enjoying all the comments. Jack)

  22. Here in the US you can usually loop a few extra condiment packs from fast food places when stopping for lunch.  Little bottles are more durable, though a pain to refill. Similarly, already have a little 175ml (4 oz.) Nalgene squirter for alcohol. 4-5 burns. I don't know I would want to carry less for the burning kind or the tasting kind. I would be more likely to use them for olive oil, soap, sun block, favorite hot sauce, bug repellent, first aid ointment.

This is great, but, have you ever heard of mustard powder? Your UL friends will be floored when you pull this out! It's great in scrambled eggs, and in a pinch, it can even pass for toothpaste. Thanks to my wife for thinking of mustard powder:)
